Toast Novato Cookbook- A Toast to the Home Cook
With over 250 pages of executive chef Mike Garcia’s recipes as well as helpful tips and techniques. In over two decades of living in Marin, Bijan has brought us the restaurants First Crush and Ora as well as Toast.
Like music or your favorite scent, simple rustic dishes tend to evoke strong emotions. They take you back to memories of your mom warming you up with a hearty meal after you were out all day playing in the fog, the buttery goodness of the grilled cheese sandwich and the salty richness of the tomato soup making the sting of the cold disappear. Remember the cool trickle of watermelon juice down your parched throat after a hot day at the park? When you bite into a chunk of watermelon in a salad, its juicy sweetness can take you right back to that moment. In essence, this book embodies those same emotions and creates fond memories and true home cooking that warms people's hearts. We wanted to share our recipes with you in the hope that you will find the same joy in preparing a meal and experience the same warmth when you share your home cooking with the people you cherish.
